It is our belief that children should be valued as unique individuals. We want the children to develop a sense of responsibility for their own learning process and to appreciate their journey to be the best versions of themselves. We encourage them to be curious, to ask questions, and to not be afraid of making mistakes. Our job is to ensure that their journey will be meaningful and fun and to establish a warm connection between school and home through the wonderful parents who are vital to their children's continued growth and development outside of school.
We want to provide a warm and positive learning environment for the children in which they would be able to grow into the best version of themselves. We divide our developmental growth into three parts:
To let children develop a sense of self-esteem we at Keiki have the important task to create an environment in which children can be themselves and be independent. We encourage them to communicate positively with their friends and to show interest and actively participate in classroom activities.
We teach them to respect each other's individual differences and cultures through multicultural activities and positive reinforcement.
Lastly, we have big and fun activities that enable the children to learn how to work together to complete a task and how to resolve their conflicts in a positive manner.
Children learn to reason and to think logically naturally from birth through natural curiosity, exploration, and exposure to different things. We believe that the foundation of further learning is formed in those early years of life. To ensure that our children are able to take advantage of that opportunity our learning program aims to train and expose them to a variety of subjects such as Maths, Science, Language, Arts and life skills. In addition, we encourage them to think for themselves, about their own learning, and to not be afraid of making mistakes along the way.
In addition, as an International Preschool, we pride ourselves in introducing the children to the English language. Our learning programs put great emphasis on the use of English throughout all lessons and activities. We have developed a reading program to help children acquire a positive disposition to reading and books, penmanship activities to teach them to write in English and Dramatic plays, and role-playing activities to improve their spoken English and encourage them to use English as a means of effective communication between them and their friends, families and other people. We also offer some Japanese lessons and are open to bilingual communication (Japanese/English) for age-specific groups.
It is important that children be able to develop their gross and fine motor skills through a variety of fun physical activities. Here at Keiki, we provide the children with the opportunity to develop their muscles and gross motor skills through park free playtime and gym time. We also have a variety of art and writing activities to enhance their fine motor skills and improve hand-eye coordination.
