Headmistress /Principal (Immediate)


We are currently seeking a professionally qualified and experienced Headmistress who is committed to the mission of Keiki Intercultural Preschool, and who is experienced in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a school and can ensure a holistic approach to the children’s education. 


Headmistress will assist the Founder/Director in facilitating the learning and teaching in a preschool program. The duties, functions, and responsibilities of the position are as follows:



  1. Overall supervision and management of the entire school.

  2. Conducting of interviews with prospective families.

  3. Addressing issues of concern from teachers and parents.

  4. Planning, scheduling and preparing of School Calendar in coordination with the Founder.

  5. Curriculum development and revision.

  6. Preparing class schedules in coordination with teachers.

  7. Checking progress reports.

  8. Checking unit and weekly plans.

  9. Conducting interviews with teacher candidates.

  10. Preparing schedule of activities in coordination with teachers.

  11. Conducting homeroom meetings with parents.

  12. Regular meetings with the Founder.

  13. Preparing and managing teacher employment contracts.

  14. Supervise and manage teacher attendance and holidays.

  15. Execute door control.

  16. Supervise daily greetings and pick-up times.

  17. Other school related duties as assigned and deemed necessary by the EMPLOYER.



  • Must have Early Childhood Education qualifications. This is a REQUIRED.

  • Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility a plus.

  • Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality.

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.

  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Highly professional and dependable.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Mac OS and the use of the internet.

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

  • College degree is required.

  • Early childhood management experience a plus.

  • Previous experience operating and managing all aspects of a school, including business management, education and continual learning and development, campus environment, and marketing and communications.

  • Previous professional experience highly preferred.

Saturday school teacher (Immediate)

We are seeking a dedicated English teacher who can cover our Saturday School program from

9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 


- The applicant must reside in Tokyo. 

- At least 1 year of experience in Preschool teaching. 

- Early childhood qualification preferred. 


-Prepare art/ science activities (morning and afternoon)

-Set up Kid's gym equipment for indoor play

Assistant Director

Administrator (Immediate)

We are looking for a reliable Office Administrator to work from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The candidate must ensure that the rest of the staff has adequate support to work efficiently.


  •  Coordinat e office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies

  • Manage agenda: appointments, school tours, events, outdoor activities. 

  • Manage phone calls and correspondence (e-mail, letters, packages)

  • Support budgeting and bookkeeping procedures

  • Preparing invoices, update financial records and databases.

  • Place supply orders when necessary

  • Assist colleagues whenever necessary  


  • At least 2 years of experience in a preschool setting.

  • Able to speak English and Japanese. 

  • Familiarity with Apple Macbook operation system and office management procedures.

  • Multitask, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • At least BSc/BA; administration, business management or relevant field is preferred.
