Founded in 2004, Keiki Intercultural Preschool is entering its 20th year as an institution of early childhood education, and it has been an honor to provide high-quality education to our wonderful community in Setagaya. We promise to continue our pursuit of learning and will strive to provide a progressive, inclusive, and friendly environment.
Here at Keiki Intercultural Preschool, we believe that every child is unique, and we encourage them to seek and explore their individuality. Our daily activities are carefully planned to help promote independence and develop curious learners who are not afraid to ask questions about the world around them.
We understand that success in school requires support from both parents and the school. By promoting our core values of respect towards peers and teachers alike, we foster an understanding of each other’s cultures and a love of learning.

IB Program
Inquiry-Based Learning
Keiki Intercultural Preschool has recently undergone a verification visit by two invigilators from International Baccalaureate (IB) World Schools, marking a significant step towards our confirmation as an authorized IB World School.
The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) is designed for young learners aged 3 to 12. This transdisciplinary program aims to develop the whole child, nurturing curiosity, inquiry, and a passion for learning. Throughout the curriculum, students engage with six transdisciplinary themes, enhancing skills such as critical thinking and communication. The program is committed to cultivating international-mindedness and fostering intercultural understanding, empowering students to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
